You don’t have to explain why it matters so much.

WELCOME

A practice built around
what others don’t always see

When you're struggling because of your animal — whether you're grieving a loss, dreading what's coming, worn down from caregiving, or dealing with conflict over custody — you often have to spend energy convincing others that it's okay to feel this way.

In this practice, that part is already done. The experience of loving an animal, and what it costs you when something goes wrong, is taken seriously here in its own right. We don't need to translate it, minimize it, or compare it to something else first.

We can just work on what's actually happening.

MY SERVICES & SPECIALTIES

The experiences I specialize in

  • Pet Loss & Grief

Whether your animal has just died, or you're in the middle of it — grief that's been minimized by others, or that feels larger than you expected, is welcome here without qualification.

  • Anticipatory Grief & Caregiving Stress

The anxiety of watching an aging or ill animal, the weight of medical decisions, the isolation that comes with being the only one who understands the stakes — all of it matters.

  • Relational Conflict & Pet Custody

Disagreements with a partner, family, or ex about care decisions, shared custody after separation, or conflict over an animal's role in the home can be genuinely painful and complex.

  • Animal Care & Advocacy Support

For those working in animal care, rescue, shelter environments, or advocacy — compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, and burnout are real, and this work can be isolating in its own way.

The experience of caring for an animal—and losing one—deserves to be taken seriously in its own right, without needing to be compared, minimized, or translated into something else.

WHY THIS PRACTICE

What makes this practice different

There are many good therapists. Here's what's distinct about working with me — and why it matters to my clients.

No explanation required

From the first session, the depth of your bond with your animal is understood. You won't need to justify why this is hard, or convince anyone that it matters as much as it does.

Structured & intentional

My background in law informs how I work — with clarity, structure, and care. Complex situations are approached without oversimplifying, and sessions have a clear purpose.

Available when you need it

Online and phone sessions throughout British Columbia, with a free 20-minute consultation to start. No waitlists, no referral required — just reach out when you're ready.

I choose this work deliberately.

Unlike large therapy platforms that match you to whoever is available, this is a focused, specialized solo practice. I work specifically with pet parents — this isn't a side specialty added to a general caseload. It's the whole practice, by design.
